‏^9.24  שָבֻעִים שִׁבְעִים נֶחְתַּךְ עַל-עַמְךָ—וְעַל-עִיר קָדְשֶׁךָ, לְכַלֵּא הַפֶּשַׁע ולחתם חטאות וּלְכַפֵּר עָוֹן, וּלְהָבִיא צֶדֶק עֹלָמִים; וְלַחְתֹּם חָזוֹן וְנָבִיא, וְלִמְשֹׁחַ קֹדֶשׁ קָדָשִׁים‮:

Seventy week have been cut concerning your kindred and your holy city for ending felonious-rebellion-against-Tor•âh′ , for sealing-up the misstep-sacrifice, for making ki•pur′  for willful-transgression-against-Tor•âh′ ; for bringing tzëd′ ëq o•lâm•im′ ; for sealing-up a vision and a Nâ•vi′ ; and for anointing the Qo′ dësh ha-Qâ•dâsh•im′ .

Speaking to fellow Jews/Israel, Dân•i•eil′  9.24 writes that "70 weeks are decreed for your kindred and your holy city (Y^әru•shâ•la′ yim)…"

For what purpose? What will happen during this period? For ending pësh′ a against Tor•âh′ , for resolving (making whole) the misstep-sacrifice and for providing ki•peir′  for â•won′  against Tor•âh′ ; for bringing Tzëd′ ëq of the ages; and for sealing-up a vision and a Nâ•vi′ , and for anointing the Qo′ dësh qâ•dâsh•im′ .

Few scholars doubt that "an עִדָן,עִדָנִין and half an עִדָן" refers to the same 3½ periods that equate to 3½ prophetic years = 1260 prophetic yâm•im′  that equate to the mid point of—3½ "yâm•im′ " into—the "70^th Week of Dân•i•eil′ ."

History shows that the things Ja•v^әr•i•eil described were "וְיִתְיַהֲבוּן into his hand" (7.25)—the hand of the Roman Empire—in 70 C.E. Since these things were prophesied to remain "in his hand" only "until" the end of first 3½ periods (Dân•i•eil′  12.7) of the "70^th Week of Dân•i•eil′ ," at which point they are removed from his hand—the reversal of the dispersal: 1948! The reemergence of Israel with its ensuing reversal of the dispersal, for the first time in history provided a time period in actual years corresponding to the prophesied 3½ עִדָנִין! This enables us to convert other prophesied events into real time as well. Until the things described in Dân•i•eil′  7.25 were removed from "his hand," however, the duration of these 3½ ages remained indeterminate; the words remained "sealed."

Ja•v^әr•i•eil's Code contains an ingenious nested symmetry of two different 7-"year" periods, one of "prophetic years" and the other of actual years. The inner period of the 7-actual-year covenant commences 30 "prophetic days" after the midpoint of the outer 7-prophetic-year period. Solving one provides the key to calulate the starting point of the other. Until the event signalling the midpoint of the outer "week" (prophetic years) occurred, however, the key to solving any of the prophecy was indeterminate and, hence, decoding the vision was intractable. This was an ingenious way to "seal up" a vision until the appointed time, also ensuring that, even then, it would be revealed only to the one who was looking, who knew where to look and to whom understanding of the vision had been given by י--ה.

The coded vision that Ja•v^әr•i•eil showed Dân•i•eil′  prophesied that, at the midpoint of the 70th week, a 7-year ברית involving Yi•s^әr•â•eil′  would begin. He prophesied that this 7-year ברית would be broken at its midpoint (i.e., after 3½ years). The description of the ברית to be effected in the middle of this week suggests that it is a literal 3½ years on the Judaic calendar, and a violation of the ברית would occur at its midpoint, 3½ literal years from its inception.

Another piece of this puzzle is the identification of the "קדישי עליונין." The only candidate for "קדישי עליונין" is the Tor•âh′ -keeping / ברית-keeping subset of the Jewish people, viz., Yi•s^әr•â•eil′ . It is they who were delivered into the hand of the Roman powers in 70 C.E. when Y^әru•shâ•la′ yim and the Beit ha-Mi•q^әdâsh′  ha-Sheini were destroyed and the Jews exiled—the "נפץ" that Dân•i•eil′  prophesied (12.7) would בְּלָא the "קדישי עליונין" as prophesied in Dân•i•eil′  7.25.
